Kiwi Culture

This term I grew my understanding of myself, kiwi culture and Greek Culture as that was the country I selected for my "Another Culture" assignment. I learnt about some kiwi icons such as; Pineapple Lumps and Pounamu to a much deeper understanding.

The most exciting part of the "Kiwi Culture" unit was the "Ko Au" slides where I was able to learn about myself in more detail. I also enjoyed learning about Greek culture.

Before this unit, I was only really interested in learning about other cultures history and facts but what I didn't realise, is that learning about; culture, heritage and identity is just as important. Not only was I able to use these words when applying it to Greek culture but I also applied it to myself which is so important if not more.

What a fascinating ancestry you have and wonderful that you know about it. For many families taonga like these stories you shared can often get lost because they don't get shared or written down. I really enjoyed your slide presentations and the wording you used is full of rich anecdotes that make for very interesting reading.

What did you like about the Greek culture?
